Z||000000||Pelicaners||04-28-2001||04:47 PM||pelicaners@aol.com||On April 19th,2001 after seeing the Simonize Car Wash System advertisement on television I was interested and ordered it by dialing this number 1-800-348-7800 which was shown on the bottom of the screen. The women who answered the phone just said hello.I had to ask if this was the right number to place an order and she said "yes it is".I thought it was a little strange the way she answered the phone but I continued to place my order.The women on the phone then tried to sell me other additional services and memberships that if I didn't cancel within thirty days my credit card would be charged.I specifically told the sales women that I was only interested in the Simonize Car Wash System.The women then goes on again trying to sell me other things at which time I threatened to cancel my order.The women then puts me on hold and comes back on the line to say "I am sorry.It is our company policy to try and sell other services." I finally completed my order.I even paid an additional $4.00 for express delivery which the women told me would take 3 to 4 business days for it to arrive.A few days later I am looking at my credit card statement and see a charge of $211.80 and I don't know what it is for.Then I noticed the date the charge went through coincidentaly enough was the very same night I placed my order over the phone.I called the 800 number back and asked why there was a charge of $211.80 on my credit card for a $19.95 item.The women then suspiciosly asks if I had said yes to the sales pitches where then I told her I specificaly made it clear that all I wanted to buy was the car wash system.She said she couldn't help me and gave me the direct number to the Simonize Company which is a toll call.The car wash system came in the mail finally on May 4th,2001 and I refused delivery.The next evening a man from the Simonize Company called to ask if I was pleased with the product.I told him I refused delivery and the whole bit.He told me that the phone number I dialed to order was not the right number.I told him that's the number I got from the television commercial and it came so it must be the right number.I gave him the number to call himself and he got weird on me and said he had to go and hung up the phone.Now something terribly wrong is going on with this Simonize Company.<P>[This message has been edited by Pelicaners (edited 05-29-2001).]<p>[This message has been edited by Pelicaners (edited 05-29-2001).]||152.163.213.67||reg||
